Neck Lift / Lower Rhytidectomy

Rejuvenate the appearance of your neck and look years younger

Dr. Chong uses one of the newest methods (but well proven and in use for many years now) for his neck lifts. The technique more effectively deals with the sagging of the muscle layer of the lower face and neck which is the main cause of the droopiness in this area. The results are superior to other methods, while risks and length of recovery decreased.

In limited cases, rejuvenation of the neck can be corrected through just liposuction of this area or through a small incision just behind the chin and tightening of the neck muscle.

This procedure can be combined with the Face Lift (Rhytidectomy) procedure as well as other procedures such as Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty).

Procedure Details & Information

Loose skin behind chin and in the neck
Deep wrinkles and folds in the neck
"Double chin"
3 - 4 hours
Under a general anaesthetic a very well hidden incision is made on the side of the face in the natural crease that exists right in front of the ear. The skin is then lifted off the underlying muscles of the face. The muscle layer in the lower jaw and neck are tightened and pulled upwards reversing the effects of aging and gravity. The skin is then lifted upwards and any excess removed. A more youthful, toned appearance is achieved in the neck. The incisions are then closed with fine sutures. A compression dressing is then applied around the neck.

If needed Liposuction is also performed in the neck to remove extra fatty tissue.

In the certain cases where rejuvenation of the neck can be achieved through just a small incision just behind the chin, such an incision is made and the loose neck muscles tightened. Similarly if the only problem is extra fatty tissue in the neck behind the chin (double chin), a small incision is made and liposuction and sculpturing of the area performed.
